Let us tell you how we work, in 8 steps.
01 A seminal moment
Your Hebrew Tattoo is born out of a seminal moment. That moment is yours. It might be a new understanding, a milestone, a reminder, a promise, a tribute or an expression of desire.
Whatever it may be, that notion is what will initiate your journey with us.
02 Meet Tamar and Maya
Once you reach out through our website, you will be called by Tamar or Maya. They will be your touch point, walking you through the process and serve as your technical guide. Once you are ready, they will connect you with David.
03 Meet David
A long time childhood friend of Gabriel Wolff, David is a reclusive traditionalist Jew, who lives in Tzfat and is a linguist and a bible scholar. In your email exchange, David will dive into your story, ask questions, make suggestions and possibly even challenge your perception. All in which to further clarify the true essence of your notion. He will then begin a process of wording and phrasing, including a search through poetry, verses, scripts of Hebrew, Aramaic and Yiddish in an effort to find the perfect way to express your story.
04 The concept
Gabriel Wolff will read your story as put together by David. He will then begin his own private process of artistic conceptualising, infused by his own spirituality and philosophy. The process has him envisioning forms, textures and colours as he fleshes out the concept. Once the visual concept is born, David presents it to you. If you accept, Tamar will arrange a Zoom meeting between you and the artist.
05 Meet Gabriel Wolff
This is where you and the artist get to know each other, talk through the artistic concept and further develop the trust needed to complete the journey.
Sometimes the conversation is like fine tuning and sometimes light is being shed so much that the concept can be altered. Once both the minds and hearts of you and the artist are at ease, the concept is established.
06 The Art
Over the next months, in the outskirts of Berlin, Gabriel Wolff will cultivate your art in his studio. This is where the magic happens.
It is a dance of aspirations, imagination, thoughts and feelings that occurs between Gabriel, his pencil, the ink and paper.
07 The Model
In the meanwhile, Daniel will create a model of the “canvas”.
Our innovative approach is simple: The glass ceiling of existing practices is only there to enable us to see through it and go above and beyond it, continuously. Your body is unique which is why the art must fit and match you accurately. To do so, we create models, based on 3D scans of your body, so Gabriel can draw art that is tailored for your body and your body only.
08 A journey’s end and the tattoo
When the art is complete, the team will professionally scan the work. You will receive the scanned art along with the model and renders.
Tattooing Gabriel’s art can be done by the tattooist of your choice or by one of our carefully selected, trusted tattooists. We have an ongoing long term relationship with tattooists in some of the leading studios in most every major city in the world. We will happily and proudly recommend someone in your area and whenever needed, make sure you are granted access to the best possible studio for your specific project.
